WAMG Chapters

WAMG was founded at the Australian National University by Alison Cook and Aislinn D'Arcy. This chapter is currently headed by the National Director and Assistant Director, Alison Cook and Alex Fladun-Dorling. 

The chapter at University of Wollongong is led by Benjamin Medley and Sophie Longmire. Inspired by the success at ANU and wanting to replicate that model of tight-knit mentoring, a group at UoW saw an opportunity to build something similar, and take that step to further support women in law. This chapter also aimed to fill in the gaps in already exiting student initiatives, bringing a dedicated women in law presence to campus. 

Eliana Rose is the chapter lead of University of Canberra's WAMG chapter. Launched end of semester 1 2026, UC was inspired to join after recognising that the support for women at UC, while improving, still had room to grow. This chapter is also excited to collaborate with Australian Law Students' Association as their presence builds on campus. 

The Australian Catholic University's chapter is led by Isra Khan. Establishing ACU’s chapter of WAMG has been one of the initiatives Isra is most proud to have been involved with. At a law school where women make up the majority of the student community,  it was important to create a dedicated space that not only celebrates women’s achievements but also champion mentorship, advocacy, and meaningful opportunities for connection and professional growth. This chapter hopes to become a lasting community where students feel empowered to support one another, amplify each other’s voices and inspire the next generation of women leaders.
